Can i get some \M/etal recommendations please

I know the metal community is pretty big here, there's so many different metal genres (i hope we can stay away from that) that i'm kinda lost when looking for new stuff. I don't really know what genre is my favorite, in the sense that i don't know how to distinguish them, not in the sense that i can't pick which is my favorite.

I'm 31 years old, i used to keep up with all the new bands and upcoming albums but the family life has taken that away, for now lol.
